Does anyone know where September went?  This month has flown by.  I’d like to say, let’s try it again, but I’m pretty sure the grade sevens would revolt on me… we are one month closer to Christmas ha.

Part of the reason the month has gone by so quickly is that we have been very busy in our classroom.

  • we have some cross-country running stars in our room
  • volleyball is up and running and my students are playing volleyball
  • our flag football team has been practicing and playing games
  • we have almost mastered algebraic expressions (and almost gotten over the fact that they the combined math and ELA by adding letters to math)
  • we have been making art that represents “home”
  • Miss Byrnes ditched Montmartre for three days and had an amazing leadership experience in Kindersley with three great kids (2 of which are older siblings of grade 7 students
  • And finally, we are looking forward to a great October!

Well, week two is finished!

We had a busy week this week and next week is looking even busier.

Don’t forget about the Back to School Barbeque on Sept. 22, followed by the Terry Fox Run.  I hope that all of you are able to come.  unfortunately, I won’t be there as I will be with some of the senior students at the Provincial Leadership Conference in Kindersley.  Eat a burger and walk a lap in my honour! 🙂

Welcome to grade 7.

It’s been just a week since classes have started and we have been very busy getting back into a routine.  We are working hard to remember our five values: Honesty, Empathy, Respect, Responsibility and Independance.  These values will govern how our room works this year.

Last week,  I sent out some very important documents.  If you have not seen them, below you will find the documents:

Welcome Letter

Classroom Procedures

Arts Education 7

Computer Literacy 7

English Language Arts 7

Math 7

Thanks for taking the time to look at our blog and I look forward to seeing you tonight at the Open House.
